Nuova Radio SDR della Elad: FDM-DUO. Ricevitore o RTX 5 W

Alla Ham Fair di Friedrichshafen, questo fine settimana, la Elad presenta una nuova radio SDR, l'FDM-DUO. 

Un RX oppure RTX (sono due le versioni) basato sul ricevitore FDM-S1 e nella versione RTX con una sezione trasmittente QRP da 5 W di nuova concezione. L'aspetto innovativo è che la radio può ovviamente essere collegata al computer, ma può anche essere "stand alone", insomma lavorare da sola senza pc o portatile. Diciamo che si tratta di un apparato più versatile e quindi più comodo dell'SDR solito computer dipendente. Il costo per il RXT dovrebbe aggirarsi sui 1.000 euro. FDM-DUO receiver part, is FDM-S1 in all its good RF performances. The TX part is a totally new architecture for SDR, very flexible and clean; more details soon. When used as "stand alone" FDM-DUO works at 192KHz internal sampling rate, when used as classical SDR the same sampling rates of FDM-S1 are available.
The very nice features is, when in stand alone use, an auxiliary I&Q out is available for spectrum display (192KHz) with any software the user wants: from the first WINRAD...at today. A little spectrum display (on a console like Tmate2) will be available for desktop spectrum visualization, this is connected to 9pin port in rear panel. The transmitter part will be 5W out.

The Italian firm Elad, producer of the FDM-S1 SDR receiver, will present at the stand of WoodBoxRadio a new stand-alone transceiver, realized fully with SDR technology. It is an RF sampler, with a DDC on a FPGA, and a Cortex ARM DSP module for filtering and demodulation. If the user so elects, it can also be connected via an USB port to a PC. The TX uses the DUC technology, the audio signal is sampled by an ADC converter, then upsampled and passed to a digital I/Q modulator. Output power is in the order of 5W.
