VOA Radiogram for 31 Aug/1 Sept 2013 MFSK Vietnamese and Russian

                                

VOA Programma Radiogram n° 24  di questo fine settimana  31 agosto e  1 settembre 2013, sarà piuttosto complessa .

La maggior parte degli ascoltatori di  VOA   Radiogram hanno già usato con successo  il RSID ( Reed Solomon Identification ) per cambiare automaticamente la modalità in ricezione. Il RSID è il breve segnale che si verifica all'inizio delle trasmissioni in digitale . 

Nel tentativo di migliorare le prestazioni di RSID, VOA Radiogram in questo fine settimana ha prodotto  una nuova versione di Fldigi 3.21.74AB . Se si scarica , e si installa  questa versione " alpha " di Fldigi da http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/fldigi/v3.21/ , si può avere più fortuna con le RSID .
Nella parte superiore a sinistra di Fldigi trovate  la casellina RxID. Cliccare in modo che diventi attiva (verde). Fldigi rileva e decodifica i segnali RSID, e cambierà automaticamente la modalità. Per esempio, quando VOA Radiogram trasmetterà da MFSK16 a MFSK32, Fldigi automaticamente cambierà modalità sul vostro PC, (se RxID è acceso)

Si prega di tenere la versione precedente di Fldigi , almeno per ora, nel caso in cui 3.21.74AB non funzionasse  bene sul vostro PC .

Se non si può , o non si desidera installare 3.21.74AB , si deve passare manualmente  da MFSK64 a MFSK128 .

Oltre agli esperimenti RSID, VOA Radiogram trasmetterà inoltre un testo campione in vietnamita e russo. Vietnamita ha tutti i tipi di segni diacritici , e russo usa un alfabeto cirillico, quindi questo sarà un vero e proprio allenamento.Sarà necessario utilizzare la codifica UTF - 8 set di caratteri.  

VOA Radiogram  in questo fine settimana avrà anche due trasmissioni in formato Flmsg . La prima sarà una storia di notizie di VOA simili a quelle trasmesse durante i fine settimana passati. Il secondo sarà un logo con codifica Base64 VOA trasmessa in MFSK128 . A causa della velocità di MFSK128 , mi aspetto un tasso di fallimento piuttosto elevato . Vale la pena di provare  .

Si prega di chiudere e riavviare Fldigi tra le trasmissioni Radiogram di questo fine settimana, questo perché le lettere con accenti spesso non vengono visualizzati correttamente , ovvero UTF- 8 non funziona più, dopo che si è  ricevuto un testo in  Flmsg

* Utilizzare l'UTF-8  In Fldigi: Configure > Colors & Fonts, selezionare il set di caratteri UTF8 ,infine Salva e Chiudi.  Reset di  Fldigi tra i test  di VOA  Radiogram

VOA Radiogram Program 24 this weekend, 31 August and 1 September 2013, will be rather complex.

Most VOA Radiogram listeners have had success using the RSID (Reed Solomon Identification) to automatically change modes. The RSID is the brief signal that occurs at the beginning of digital mode transmissions. One exception to this success is the RSID for MFSK64, which is not decoded on some listeners' software.

In an attempt to improve RSID performance, I have produced this weekend's VOA Radiogram using Fldigi 3.21.74AB. If you download, install, and use this "alpha" version of Fldigi from  http://www.w1hkj.com/alpha/fldigi/v3.21/, we may have better luck with the RSIDs.

Please keep your previous version of Fldigi, at least for now, in case 3.21.74AB does not work well on your PC.

If you can't, or prefer not to, install 3.21.74AB, I will provide time for you to switch manually to MFSK64 and MFSK128.

In addition to the RSID experiments, VOA Radiogram will also transmit sample text in Vietnamese and Russian. Vietnamese has all sorts of diacritics, and Russian uses a Cyrillic alphabet, so this will be a real workout. You will need to use the UTF-8 character set. In Fldigi, UTF-8 can be selected in a menu located somewhere in Configure > Colors & Fonts, depending on your version.

This weekend's VOA Radiogram will also contain two transmissions in Flmsg format. The first will be a VOA News story similar to those transmitted during past weekends. The second will be a Base64-encoded VOA logo transmitted in MFSK128. Because of the speed of MFSK128, I'm expecting a fairly high failure rate. Worth a try, though.

Please close and restart Fldigi between VOA Radiogram broadcasts this weekend. This is because letters with accents often do not display correctly, i.e. UTF-8 no longer works, after an Flmsg item is received.
