Five new Klingenfuss products for 2022 !

Dear friends,

all new products for 2022

- 2022 Super Frequency List on CD
- 2022 Shortwave Frequency Guide
- 2022 Frequency Database for the PERSEUS Software-Defined Receiver
- 1997-2022 Digital Data Decoder Screenshots on USB Stick
- Supplement January 2022 to the 2021/2022 Guide to Utility Radio Stations

have been published by 15 December. There has been a severe delay in
the book printing process since the Heidelberg Speedmaster at Laupp-
Goebel crashed. Please note that our products are genuine offset-
printed books printed here in Tuebingen (and not somewhere in e.g.
"low-cost" China or elsewhere), professionally finished by a real
bookbinder, and not some cheap laser-printed "book-on-demand" product
glued together for short-time use without paying attention to the
paper grain direction!

We've worked around the clock and hundreds of your advance orders
have now been shipped - strictly first-in-first-out ... - in time for
the Christmas and winter holiday and radio monitoring season. The
rest will be proceeded during the coming week. Enjoy!

Full A4 size sample pages can be found on our website

where you can download the new 2022 catalogue as well, plus detailed
product descriptions, hundreds of fascinating screenshots, and a list
of dealers worldwide. Alternatively, you may ask for our free 24-
pages 2022 printed catalogue to your postal address.

The free Supplement January 2022 to the 2021/2022 Guide to Utility
Radio Stations with 300+ new frequencies and updated FAX schedules
can be downloaded from our website as well. For decades, the
Klingenfuss Utility Radio Guide has been the standard reference book
for both professional HF radio monitoring services and non-
professional radio listeners worldwide.

Deadline for the very latest 2022 broadcast schedules published in
the brandnew Shortwave Frequency Guide was on 15 November 2021.
Unlike traditional publications in this field, our clear layout and
new typeface provides for excellent legibility. See the brandnew
sample pages on our comprehensive webpage!

Apart from the usual up-to-date broadcast and utility station and
schedule databases, the 2022 Super Frequency List on CD now covers
more than !!!985!!! fascinating new digital data decoder screenshots
from professional HF stations around the globe, comprising in detail
the revolutionary Kiwi-SDR and Web-SDR techniques as well.

Our product Digital Data Decoder Screenshots on USB Stick now covers
more than 22,800 (twenty two thousand eight hundred!) digital data
decoder screenshots from 1997 to today, essentially produced with
PROCITEC and WAVECOM equipment, and certain "amateur" decoders such
as FLDIGI and SIGMIRA. Feed your PC or laptop or tablet with this
stick, and the "slide show" will keep you busy for a few days - or
weeks!

As precisely predicted by ourselves - and by nobody else! - already
22 years ago in 2000, HF e-mail continues to spread rapidly and has
developed into the major application of modern digital HF techniques
that we have marketed - and used! - for decades.

More than 600 free receivers worldwide are currently linked e.g. on
www.kiwisdr.com ! Our updated article "Internet-controlled SDRs",
focusing on the reception of fascinating HF utility radio stations,
is available at www.klingenfuss.org/websdr.pdf . What's more, you can
read about "The future of shortwave broadcasting" at
www.klingenfuss.org/radogram.pdf . "SATCOM vs. HF in the New Global
Cold War" at www.klingenfuss.org/satcomhf.pdf may be of interest as
well ...

Best wishes, Joerg Klingenfuss

Klingenfuss Radio Monitoring

Dear friends,

solar activity is finally increasing and provides improved HF propagation conditions - see our screenshot from this morning at

600+ (more than six hundred!) Kiwi-SDRs are now available worldwide at

Enjoy!
Updated radiofax schedules of Athens Funabashi Guangzhou Hamburg Kagoshima Misaki et al can be found on our website - see the 2021/2022 GUIDE TO UTILITY RADIO STATIONS subpage. What's more, since publication (in December 2020) of the new 2021 editions of our books and CDs and databases, hundreds of new digital data decoder screenshots have been uploaded to our hotfrequencies webpage: so far 1000+ (more than one thousand) since 1 December 2020!

We've monitored and decoded thousands of fascinating HFDL messages for decades, and from locations all over the world. While state-of-the-art CPDLC messages are widely used elsewhere, good old Europe is still considerably behind ... By consequence, from an engineering / technical point of view, monitoring Agana Auckland Barrow Hat-Yai Molokai Muan Riverhead San-Francisco is far more interesting than Reykjavik Shannon Telde. The new station Muan, in particular, continues to be extremely busy! What's more, due to the China Virus Chaos and its containment - or the total failure to do so by certain governments just here -, there is much more air traffic within (and between) America - Asia - Pacific than in Africa - Europe.

Professional digital data decoder systems such as PROCITEC's go2MONITOR and WAVECOM's W-CODE provide post-processing software routines for converting ADS-B and CPDLC HEX messages et al. For example, ADS-B:

78380724F41BA73A8908A5A91F172300AB84ECC90888AA0D24BBFBA2F50908810823B3

and general ACARS message labels are explained at

A "manual" CPDLC HEX decoder for less sophisticated decoding applications (so far it does not work for ADS-B messages) can be found e.g. at

Beyond these features, SQL (Structured Query Language) filtering of professional decoder results allows precise selection of certain texts out of hundreds of decoded messages.

Standard aeronautical and telecommunication abbreviations can be found everywhere, as are four-letter ICAO location indicators and three-letter IATA location indicators worldwide. You might have noticed, however, that dozens of very special abbreviations (such as
ADIRS AHMS BTMS CIDS DFDAU EPESC FDIMU GPSSU HPTC LMTOGW MACG PECS SDAC VGMX ...), referring to the respective message text, are explained exclusively on our hotfrequencies webpage. The same goes for automatic data downlinks such as altitude/lateral/vertical changes and periodic reports. What's more, specific Internet tutorials will enable you to easily interpret standard FPLs, NOTAMs, and so on.

Best wishes - 73, Joerg Klingenfuss

Five new Klingenfuss products for 2021

Dear friends,

all new products for 2021

- 2021/2022 Guide to Utility Radio Stations
- 2021 Shortwave Frequency Guide
- 2021 Super Frequency List on CD
- 2021 Frequency Database for the Perseus LF-HF Software-Defined
Receiver
- 1997-2021 Digital Data Decoder Screenshots on USB Stick

have been published by 3 December. We've worked around the clock and hundreds of advance orders have been mailed by Tuesday 8 December, i.e. well in time for the Christmas holiday and radio monitoring season. Enjoy!

Currently, more than 500 (this Friday evening: 536!) Kiwi-SDRs worldwide covering the complete 0-30 MHz spectrum are linked at www.kiwisdr.com, offering a total of 2000+ fully independent reception channels . New features are DRM and TDoA. This is simply great for the reception and identification of HF utility radio stations, and even NAVTEX on MF, from interesting locations all over the world. Hundreds of new digital data decoding screenshots have again been published in our 2021 editions - see dozens of samples on our hotfrequencies website!

Full A4 size sample pages of all publications can be found on our continuously updated website

There you can download the new 2021 catalogue as well, plus detailed product descriptions, and a list of dealers worldwide, from Australia to the United States of America. Alternatively, you may ask for our free 24-pages 2021 printed catalogue to your postal address.

The complete schedule of brandnew radiofax station Guangzhou Radio can be found at

SATCOM is increasingly vunerable. HF is a proven alternative that cannot be jammed. See our new article at

Important information for our customers in AUS CAN IND JAP MLA NZL SAF SNG USA: airfreight capacity towards America Asia Oceania, let alone elsewhere, is considerably reduced due to the Global China Virus Chaos. (Just for the record, around 50 percent of global airfreight is usually carried in Unit Load Devices on the lower deck cargo hold of passenger aircraft. However, most of these are grounded due to the almost-total collapse of international tourism and travel.) No problem so far for airmail letters up to 0.5 kg (e.g. one
CD). According to Deutsche Post, letters up to 1 kg (e.g. one book) are airmailed to Dubai or Mumbai and surface mailed from there to AUS (20-25 days total) or NZL (25-30 days total). The same to CONUS should be around 20 days, and somewhat more to the West Coast.

Thank you for your continued support in difficult times, and best wishes for 2021!

Dear friends,

currently, more than 500 Kiwi-SDRs are available at www.kiwisdr.com , and most of these cover the entire HF spectrum. Consequently, monitoring and decoding of professional HF digital data stations - from exotic locations all over the world! - is more convenient than ever before. Hundreds of screenshots will be published in our brandnew 2021 editions. See dozens of samples on our hotfrequencies website!

We've passed the solar cycle minimum in 2019, and propagation conditions are improving fast: on 5 October we received the low-power transmitter of aircraft ET-AVB, an Ethiopian Airlines A350 at an altitude of 41,000 feet enroute from Addis to Dubai, sending automatic position reports every few minutes on 21955 kHz. HF radio continues to be fascinating!

We're now working on our new products

- 2021/2022 Guide to Utility Radio Stations

Dear friends,

we're now working on our new products
- 2014 Super Frequency List on CD
- 2014 Shortwave Frequency Guide
- 2014 Frequency Database for the Perseus LF-HF Software-Defined Receiver
- Supplement January 2014 to the 2013/2014 Guide to Utility Radio Stations
to be published on 10 December 2013.

Full-resolution title page graphics can be found at
www.klingenfuss.org/r_2014.jpg
www.klingenfuss.org/s_2014.gif

If you are able to supply additional new frequencies and stations, your cooperation would be highly appreciated. Please let us have your data by
15 October 2013
.
The printed Supplement, with hundreds of new frequencies and stations monitored throughout 2013, will be attached free to all copies of the 2013/2014 Guide to Utility Radio Stations sold after
1 January 2014. Those customers that did acquire the Utility Guide before that date may download the pertinent .PDF file free from our website, after 1 January 2014.

The new PLATH Go2Monitor and Go2Signals digital data decoders have been introduced only in early 2013, allowing parallel decoding of up to 32 channels simultaneously. Dozens of pertinent new screenshots will be included in our 2014 products. See
www.klingenfuss.org/persuser.pdf
for selected examples.

The continuously updated product Digital Data Decoder Screenshots on CD is highly successful and now covers more than 9,700 (nine thousand seven hundred!) screenshots from 1997 to today. Feed your PC with this CD and the "slide show" will keep you busy for a few days – or weeks!

After a relatively "weak" solar cycle maximum with a hefty 210+ sunspots in May 2013, we currently have sunspot numbers around 90, with some more small peaks around 120-130 expected. HF propagation conditions and long-distance communication continue to be good. New
HF e-mail services, stations, networks and frequencies continue to emerge on a regular basis. HF e-mail booms and service providers continue to expand. No other publisher considers this revolutionary development accordingly.
