AirspyHF+ in arrivo: prime prove e confronti by Simon Brown

Il nuovo ricevitore AirspyHF+ è in arrivo. Simon Brown ha potuto lavorare su uno dei primi modelli, ancora in fase di miglioramento, anche per adeguare il suo software SDR-Radio V3 al nuovo SDR.

Ha così pubblicato sul suo sito alcune prove di ricezione confrontandolo con il ricevitore NetSDR della RFSpace, apparato che costa quasi dieci volte tanto: 200 euro l'AirspyHF+, 1.900 il NetSDR di Simon.

sveliamo i misteri dell'ARRL

Il titolo è sicuramente esagerato ma vorrei farvi partecipi della mia esperienza con il Log del Mondo ovvero  il "noto" sistema Logbook of the World (“LoTW”) dell' ARRL.

L' ARRL (sito web) è la più antica associazione radioamatoriale del mondo ed è stata fondata il 6 aprile 1914 (vedi wiki).

"LoTW" è un archivio LOG di stazione inviati da radioamatori di tutto il mondo. 

Quando entrambi i radioamatori partecipanti ad un QSO inviano a LoTW dati coincidenti relativi a un collegamento, il risultato è una “QSL elettronica” che può essere utilizzata per richiedere uno dei diplomi della ARRL.

Per evitare la possibilità di truffe, tutti i QSO devono essere corredati da firma digitale, apposta utilizzando il certificato elettronico fornito dalla ARRL. 

Per ottenere questo certificato è necessario verificare l’identità del titolare di licenza inviando alla ARRL la documentazione richiesta. 

La cosa è un po' laboriosa ... ma se ci son riuscito io ce la farete anche voi HI.

Il tutto è nato durante le prime lezioni di telegrafia all' ARI di Genova quando la Laura IZ1DFL per motivarci ci ha detto: << appena imparate con il CW inizierete a fare dei bei DX ed allora iniziate ora ad  iscrivervi a  "LoTW" >> ... 

Forse la Laura mi sopravvalutava infatti ad oggi non ho ancora fatto neppure un QSO in CW perché sono tutt'altro che uno studente modello e studio poco.

Ma non m'arrendo ed anche quest'anno andrò al corso dell'ARI di Genova

Tornando all'argomento 

1) ci si iscrive sul sito https://lotw.arrl.org/lotwuser/default e arriverà una risposta del genere:

Hello Francesco,
Just a  reminder that you submitted a request for a Logbook of the World (LoTW) callsign certificate 30 days ago for the callsign IZ1KVQ.

2) si manda via posta all'indirizzo sopra indicato in busta chiusa con 

    - la fotocopia della patente di operatore di stazioni di radioamatori (fronte-retro)

     -  attestato di autorizzazione generale (poiché nelle nostra patenti Italiane non è scritto il nominativo) 

     - la copia della prima pagina del passaporto 

3) si aspetta molto (io ho atteso 3 mesi) poi arriva l'email

MW DXing aspettando la grey line: Afghanistan, India, Ethiopia...

Sto facendo un po' di esperimenti con i ricevitori piazzati a Bocca di Magra. Ad esempio ho provato a monitorare l'arrivo della grey line nel tardo pomeriggio, registrando le onde medie dalle 1645 alle 1735 UTC (1845-1935 locali). Così ho potuto vedere come nell'arco di poco tempo la propagazione cambi svariate volte, portando segnali diversi che si alternano con anche dei picchi notevoli, seppure non di lunga durata. Ci vuole un po' di pazienza ma è comunque un ottimo modo per distrarsi... Ecco alcuni ascolti con l'Excalibur Pro e il loop Wellbrook 1530LNP. 73, Giampiero

Finalmente una conferma dalla Grecia! Via Facebook, grazie agli amici greci e in particolare al DXer Cristoforo Liatos. Si tratta di Seven Islands AM Radio, da Cefalonia, ascoltata su 1350 kHz (una frequenza che è una miniera di ascolti) da Bocca di Magra.

Propagazione in onde corte migliorata in basso. Ecco qualche ascolto milanese. Era già un po' che non ricevevo più Radio Tawantinsuyo sui 6173.94 kHz, stanotte invece, pur debole, arrivava in modo apprezzabile e piacevole. Rx: Elad FDM-S2 - Ant: dipolo ripiegato di 15 metri.
