La lista Yahoo sara' attiva e funzionante fino al 28 Febbraio , poi verra' cancellata .

Dal 1 Marzo la lista "radiorama-air" su Groups.io , che prego di mantenere silente fino a tale data , onde evitare duplicazione , inizierà il suo corso .

Ottimo documento sulle VLF e non solo

Tratto dal gruppo VLF su Yahoo un ottimo compendio teorico-pratico sulle VLF .

Non lasciatevi trarre in inganno dai formalismi matematici , ci sono le descrizioni e soprattutto grafici e formule finali per risolvere casi veramente pratici .

Non facile , ma basilare per arrivare a corrette valutazioni .

"My approach is to store the graphical spectrum in high resolution (RBW 0.12 Hz and less) around carrier frequencies, taking snapshots of all frequencies in the MW range, using remote Perseus receivers around the globe for comparison. The Perseus software has no interface to capture the spectrum. So I've copied and analyzed the V4/V5 GUI graphics, reading out the plot, automatically increasing in 9 or 10 KHz steps and calibrating afterwards. So what you see is not the original image but the spectrum derived from customized values stored in a database. It is combined with a basic night-time prediction and known offsets by FMSCAN / MWLIST. This is a project to grow and still very beta. But you can see the first results now. Please use the submit button every time you change location/frequency/time settings. 

If anyone is interested I can publish the PHP-scripts before not too long. The scripts for capture procedure with offset analysis in live mode (up to Perseus Version 4) can be found here: Perseus PHP Kit. It's running on localhost with Apache, and I'm not sure how it will behave in other system environments.

Fulmini e saette !

Si discuteva sul gruppo VLF di Yahoo dell' insolita assenza di fulmini che si protrae da mesi assieme alla assenza di pioggia .

Qualcuno ha messo in dubbio la funzionalita' della note rete http://www.blitzortung.org/it/page_0/index.php

Post Scriptum del 29 Ottobre : Ho appena installato la versione 0.3h di SDRsharper (che c'e' nel link indicato) su una chiavetta RTL .
Nessun problema di installazione su W8.1
Basta selezionare in alto a sinistra : ExtIO_RTL ed ha funzionato al primo colpo .
Posso solo dire una cosa : FANTASTICO . Il migliore,piu' completo ed ergonomico software SDR mai provato .
Consuma abbastanza risorse (50% sul mio PC) , ma devo dire che con tutto cio' che fa e la grafica che ha , ci sta ....

Dear friends,
the new Perseus software version I planned to made available at the end of 2014 is almost ready.

I apologize for the delay. At the beginning of the year I had some problems that kept me far away from the concentration I needed to complete the development I promised up to few time ago.

Anyway, the playback version of the Perseus V will be available probably by mid August. It will serve as a full demonstration of the new sofware release so that everyone could decide if it will be worth buying the full version which I will make available soon later.

In this new version, besides the resizable GUI, I've changed a lot of things. I've redesigned part of the DSP chain in order to get a greater performance. and changed also a lot on the tuning methods in order to make the GUI more comfortable.

Along with the playback version I will try to publish a starting guide so that everyone could better understand the differences with the previous software revisions.

For what concerns the real-time version I need to understand which kind of problems are still experienced under Windows 7 and here comes your feedbacks. For the development I'm using two systems, a  64-bit W7 professional o.s.and a 32 bit system. I've no hardware inizialization problems in both cases. The Perseus WinUsb drivers are still unsigned but get installed on the 64-bit system provided that the user accept to install them when the system requires to do it.

I will not reply to your feedbacks but they would help me anyway to better understand what actions should be be taken to solve the most common issues concerning the hardware installation. So please don't exhitate.
(don't forget to include all the details of your o.s. version and platform, otherwise they would be quite useless).

The new software version looks pretty good and I'm quite satisfied of the job I've done.
I think you will appreciate it soon as well.
