Grimeton Radio/SAQ Transmission on Christmas Eve December 24, 2016

We are now planning for the traditional transmission with the Alexanderson 200 kW alternator on VLF 17.2 kHz on the morning of Christmas Eve, Thursday, December 24. The message transmission will take place at 08:00 UTC and the transmitter will be tuned up from around 07:30 UTC.

Since the plant is old, there is always the risk that the transmission will be cancelled with short notice. An updated information will be published on our website www.alexander.n.se.

There will be activity on Amateur Radio Frequencies with the call SK6SAQ.

Extra SAQ transmission, August 16th, 2016

 

An extra transmission from the Unesco World Heritage Grimeton Radio Station (SAQ) will be made on Tuesday, August 16th, 2016, on the occasion of the 11th nordic shortwave conference HF 16 with the attached longwave symposium LW 16, a venue held on the small island of faaroe north of Gotland in the baltic sea.

Start up and tune in of the transmitter will begin at at around 09.15 UTC (11.15 local time), and the transmission of a message on the frequency 17.2 kHz CW, will start at 09.40 UTC (11.40 local time).

No QSL-cards will be given this time and no List of Reports will be constructed but we accept shorter Listeners Report to e-mail info@alexander.n.se.

APERTURA STRAORDINARIA DELLA SEDE MUSEALE

SABATO 21 MAGGIO 2016 dalle ore 21:00 alle ore 23:00

INGRESSO GRATUITO con Visita Libera al Museo

Il 21 maggio, a livello Europeo, si svolgerà la Notte dei Musei. La tematica proposta per il 2016 dalla Regione Toscana, attinge al tema della Giornata Internazionale dei Musei Icom Italia: "Musei e paesaggi culturali" con particolare attenzione agli effetti , in vari tempi e luoghi, del condizionamento umano sul paesaggio, anche in relazione al 50° anniversario delle grandi alluvioni del 1966.

il Museo dei Mezzi di Comunicazione del Comune di Arezzo vi invita ad una visita museale in notturna con esposizione straordinaria di tutte le apparecchiature donate al Museo dal Dott. Carlo Luigi Ciapetti di Firenze che, da radioamatore esperto, in occasione dell'alluvione della sua città il 4 novembre 1966, mise a disposizione del Prefetto in modo da collegare il popolo fiorentino alluvionato al mondo intero. La stessa apparecchiatura fu lì indispensabile per far da tramite fra i vari servizi di soccorso e per smistare gli approvigionamenti delle materie di prima necessità.

Per la ricorrenza dei 50 anni di questa grande alluvione, il Museo dei Mezzi di Comunicazione ha scelto di pubblicare il testo inedito del Radioamatore "Il Nonno e l'Alluvione" - disponibile la Notte del 21 Maggio presso il BookShop del museo
